We held our first digital nomad meetup in London last April, bringing together individuals from different backgrounds, nationalities, and ages. Despite their differences, all attendees shared a strong interest in the future of work and the appeal of Estonia as a destination for digital nomads. Furthermore, the event offered a platform for like-minded individuals to discuss Estonia's advantages, such as its e-governance system, high quality of life, and thriving business ecosystem, as well as network and learn from each other's experiences.

The meetup was hosted by the Estonian Ambassador, H. E. Viljar Lubi, who invited us to his cosy residence, who invited us to his cosy residence, where he and Visit Estonia's Digital Nomad Visa Project Manager, Pallas Mudist, delivered introductory remarks. They posed thought-provoking questions such as "Why Estonia?" and "What defines a digital nomad?"

The event's highlight was a panel discussion about Estonia and its advantages for digital nomads.

The conversation was led by British digital nomad and freelance journalist Shafi Musaddique. Born and raised in London, he started his digital nomad journey a few months ago after moving to Estonia on a Digital Nomad Visa. Shafi was joined by fellow Brit and Digital Nomad Visa holder Chris Shirley, who runs his company, Haus of Hiatus, from Estonia.
Also joining the pair was Hannah Brown, head of content at e-Residency, who refers to herself as a "slomad". Madis Päev, a Tallinn local and marketeer working for the Estonian startup Xolo, also participated in the discussion.
